Jeffery R. Martin, Ph.D.

Clinical Background

Dr. Martin received his Ph.D. in Psychology at the University of California at Berkeley in 1975 and has over 30 years of clinical experience. 

He is an anxiety disorders specialist with an interest in artful and empathic exposure-based cognitive and behavioral psychotherapies.  Dr. Martin has authored numerous professional articles, papers and symposia on state-of-the-art treatment of anxiety disorders. He also founded and directs the Institute for Psychotherapy Integration, a professional training institute. 

He is an Associate Clinical Professor with the University of California at San Francisco School of Medicine, Department of Family and Community Medicine where he has received a Distinguished Special Award for teaching.

Dr. Martin's Intern

Lori Sparrow, M.A. is a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist Intern (#IMF78288) working under Dr. Martin's supervision. Ms. Sparrow has been in a number of clinical internships and post graduate training for over 2 years. She brings extensive experience across many clinical settings working with individuals and families, and outside of mental health in her earlier philanthropic career.

Lori Sparrow's approach is both active and empathic. Through support and collaboration, her work is custom tailored to each patient. Therapy is goal and outcome oriented It emphasizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Exposure Therapy, ERP, components of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy as well as patient and parent education. Mindfulness is a central principle in her work. Her approach is also integrative and may include the exploration of goals, conflicts, and life transitions. Ms. Sparrow sees patients on a low fee sliding scale.
